Technical Care (Fern Kokedama) Watering (Immersion): Do not water with a watering can. You should immerse the moss ball in a container of water for 10–15 minutes until bubbles stop coming out. Drain well before placing it in its spot. Repeat when the ball feels light or the moss feels dry to the touch. Light: It needs bright but always indirect light. Direct sunlight through glass will dry the moss and quickly scorch the fern fronds. Ambient Humidity: It is vital. Ferns suffer in dry environments. Mist the foliage and the moss ball frequently, especially in summer or if there is heating. Particularity (Roots): This fern develops hairy rhizomes that grow outside (they look like rabbit feet).
